The MC range of controls were high speed, very high performance multiple axes ( 1 - 6 ) motion controllers.
The very high performance was obtained by using multiple 16 bit micro processors together with NEE
designed Application Specific Integrated Circuits ( ASIC ). MC Units have been optimised to rapidly execute
data produced by CAD/CAM software.
The full range of motion controls ( MC ) are:
MC 3P up to 3 Axis Plotter Controller where the third axis can either control a tangential knife
or a Z axis.
MC 4P up to a 3 Axis Plotter Controller plus beam axis when 2 controller axes are used to drive
a plotter beam, i.e. one at each end.
MC 3M up to 3 Axis Machine Controller.
MC 6M from 4 to 6 Axis Machine Controller.
MC Controller range features:
PROGRAMMABLE SYSTEM PARAMETERS- Enables the MC to be precisely
matched to machine parameters on installation e.g. number, type and movement limits of axes, acceleration
/deceleration profiles, angular dependent vector intersect velocity, datum features etc.
Switch selection
of baud rate, number of stop bits, XON/XOFF, CTS/RTS or ACK/NAK control, ( baudrate up to 19200 bits per
second).Dual RS232 ports :- 1 Host computer port, 1 'pass-through' port enabling additional peripherals
to be 'daisy chained'.
INTEGRAL MOTOR DRIVES - Either up to 4 small to medium STEPPER motors or up
to 3 small to medium power DC servo drives can be fitted internally making the MC a complete integrated
control package.
CONTINUOS CONTROLLED MOVEMENT - Dual 16 bit microprocessor system provides continuous
machine movement at feeds up to 30,000 steps or encoder pulses per second.
HIGH SPEED BLOCK PROCESSING - Typically up to 100 blocks ( programme lines ) can be computed and
executed per second.
The MC controllers are compatible with a range of stepper and DC drive units. For small to medium
motor power applications the MC is generally supplied complete with motor drives in a robust enclosure
with the host computer connections on the unit front and other external connections on the unit rear.
