PNC2 - Programmable Numerical Control

PNC2

The Programmable Stepper Motor Controller was a versatile controller designed to position machines utilising stepper motors and leadscrews. The controller was designed to be reliable, fast, accurate and able to be used by unskilled personnel. Additionally the controller may have been used in manual mode, a semi-automatic mode or a fully automatic mode.

The most common PNC applications utilise the PNC to control either a rotary table or a linear XY table with the auxiliaries being used to control tools, table locking and lubricants. Movement is made using stepper motors and stepping motor drives selected to provide the appropriate torque, dependent upon load inertia, frictional load, positioning increment and the maximum movement speed required.
