Eagle Carpet Cutter
NEE AMC4 controllers have been retrofitted to a number of Eagle rug cutting machines.
The AMC4 uses a powerful 32 bit RISC processor, this improves the Eagle rug
cutting machine productivity by from 40% to 100%. The productivity improvements are because the AMC
calculates ahead through the job program, optimising machine movements, so that it continuously cuts or
carves removing the Eagle controller 'stopping and thinking' time. Also machine moves between cuts are far faster
Additionally the AMC4 provides precise control of the machine, this results
in far more accurate parts.
AMC4 Eagle retrofits are supplied together with WinAMC, NEE's custom control
panel Design and Machine control software. This enables PC based control panels to be generated and used.
Individual and password protected control panels can be produced, in any PC supported language, to suit
each machine operator.
When compared with the Eagle controller, AMC4's have many other time saving
features, including:
- Separate presettable parameters for controlling the cutting and carving heads as they have to be
done at different speeds.
- Immediate response to operator 'program stop' commands, pausing the cutting or carving process.
- Cutting and carving speeds can be changed, without stopping the machine.
- Jobs can be 'Dry Run', 'Backed Up', and 'Skipped', i.e executed without cutting, making recovering from
cutting problems simple.
- A search feature enables the operator to move the machine to any point in the job program and to resume
the cutting or carving operation from that point.
- Integrated machine and controller diagnostics, if a problem is encountered the
AMC4 stops the machine and displays details of the problem permitting easy
rectification.
AMC's are designed and manufactured for use in harsh industrial environments and are extremely reliable,
more than 2500 are in use in the USA. In the unlikely event of a failure, the system, which is supplied
in one compact enclosure, can be simply disconnected and shipped to our plant in Ohio for 'same day repair'.
